Alia Shawkat, born April 18th, 1989 in Riverside California (United States) She is one of the Television's most successful and well-known actors. She played Maeby on the Fox show Arrested Development, a part which earned her the TV Land Future Classic Award. She starred of the film Whip It alongside Ellen Page. Shawkat appeared as Hannah from 2001 to 2004 on State of Grace. Shawkat was Maeby Funke, a main cast member in Arrested Development. She played her role right from the start of the series until its final episode. Shawkat's performance was sometimes singled out as a worthy recipient of praise. Brian M. Palmer described Shawkat as "one of the brightest spots on a program populated by just bright lighting" as well Scott Weinberg (eFilmCritic) called the actress a funny young woman. On an A.V. Club in the year 2010 Shawkat remarked that many of her most memorable scenes as an actor occurred in the Arrested Development set: Mitch Hurwitz was like a dad figure to me. My time on the Arrested Development set was so valuable to me because it allowed my love of comedy to develop. In 2009, Shawkat appeared in Whip It co-star Har Mar Superstar's music video, Tall Boy which also featured Eva Mendes and Eric Wareheim. The Hollywood Reporter claims that The show follows two incredibly cool hipster girl who move from Brooklyn's Williamsburg towards Los Angeles Silver Lake to become artists of all kinds. The actress received plenty of appreciation and praise for her performance.
