Niykee who's had a whirlwind few years including being selected by Snoop to perform with him at The YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee maintains a consistent songwriting schedule even though she has been a bit busy. Niykee is an enduring magnet for producers who are just starting out. Many of the beats she hears from producers spark song ideas. She claims that she is able to tell if the beat is great in only 5 minutes. Then, a new track will come into her head. I'll sit out on my back porch with my guitar and lyrics are just a matter of time and typically it's all done in under 30 minutes. While she develops as a musician, Niykee says that the hurt of her history is an unending source of unimaginable ideas. Although I don't write directly about events that have been a part of my life, all the trauma of my childhood and the loss of my sister end up getting pushed into my lyrics, she says. This shapes my music and provides it with a deeper sense of meaning that I believe is very important. I'd like to be able to listen to my songs in 20 years and feel proud of the things I've written.
